‘Celebration of Life’ to help Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer

A full evening of activities is planned in the upper city park this Friday, June 1, for the first “Celebration of Life,” an expanded event sponsored by Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer.
The celebration will run from 6-10 p.m. in the vicinity of the Rotunda area, and donations continue to pour in for the live auction. The larger items include a a custom brick mailbox donated by Shane Gleeson, a 50 caliber cannon donated by Jeff Todd, 5 ton of sand or gravel by Hermann Sand and Gravel and a helicopter ride donated by Nick Engemann.
The live auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. with numerous items donated by local businesses and individuals.
Tribute candles are currently available for purchase, prior to the event. Contact Melissa Overkamp at Peoples Savings Bank.
Minute to Win it teams can still register the night of the event. $5.00 donation per team member and must be registered by 6:30 p.m. Contact Tina Geltz 573-680-0999 to register your team.
“Thus far the support we have received to create this event has been astounding,” said Susan Stiers, a member of the organizing committee. “We look forward to a memorable evening with the Hermann community to honor those who have been touched by cancer.
The 1st Celebration of Life Event,” 100% of the funds raised through the Celebration of Life Event will help to ease the added cost of daily living and medical expenses not covered by insurance.
The Crusade Against Cancer is a 501-c-3 tax-exempt entity as a part of the Community Foundation of the Hermann Area, Inc.
