The 5th annual Crusade Against Cancer Hog roast will be held at the former Pamida parking lot on Market Street on Saturday, May 5, from 11 a.m. until it’s all gone.
Featured on the menu will be cured and smoked whole hog, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, home-made desserts and beverages. Eat in or take out will be available.
A donation of $7.00 will be accepted. All proceeds go to the Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer. Those funds stay in the community to assist families afflicted with cancer with expenses not covered by insurance, such as travel expenses, medicines, prosthetic devices and some other household expenses.
The Crusade Against Cancer is a 501-c-3 tax-exempt entity as a part of the Community Foundation of the Hermann Area, Inc. To date, it has assisted over 83 families with over $184,600.
On Friday evening, June 1st, we will be hosting an event for the entire community. Many activities are planned for this event, including a dinner, silent auction, kids/adult games, Minute to Win It team competitions, and live music provided by the Bluff Tones.
The Celebration of Life event will be held from 6-10 p.m. in the Upper City Park in Hermann. At 9:45, there will be a candle light ceremony in honor of those still fighting the battle and in remembrance of those who have passed.
Applications and additional information on forming teams will be available in early May.
We ask that you consider showing your support with either a monetary donation or by donating an item for the silent auction.
