Gasconade County R-1 School District is offering summer programs that are open to all students who are enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grades for the next (2012-13) school year. These programs are free of charge.
Summer School Director Lolly Rogers explained the programs, and what parents can expect this summer.
Summer school will be held Monday through Friday, June 4 through June 29, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hermann High School.
Bus transportation will be provided, but summer school bus routes are modified. Students must get on and off the bus at designated pick-up/drop-off points or at locations along the designated routes. There is no house-to-house pickup.
The breakfast/lunch program will be available. Students have the option to purchase breakfast and/or lunch at school or they may bring their own lunch. A concession stand will also be operated to sell snacks and drinks to students.
Perfect attendance will be rewarded with a total of 5 drawings – one drawing each week of $50 cash and one final drawing of $100 cash. Each week students who have had perfect attendance for that week will have their names entered into a drawing. Weekly drawings will be held on Mondays with one name being drawn each week. A final drawing to include students with perfect attendance for the entire summer school will be held on the final day of summer school along with the final week’s drawing.
