Hermann could get new Market Street bridge over Frene Creek

A new Market Street bridge over Frene Creek in Hermann is one oproject that could be constructed within the next 10 years, depending on the outcome of Constitutional Amendment 7 to be voted on Aug. 5.
That project remained on the “priority list” for Gasconade County after the Missouri Transportation Commission approved a list of hundreds of transportation projects on July 9. Amendment 7 funds will allot $990,000 for that project.
Regional priority lists were developed for each of MoDOT’s seven regions. The regional project list which was identified with significant input and reflects the needs of each region.
The statewide list includes $4.8 billion in transportation projects. While a significant amount of work focuses on Missouri’s roads and bridges, it also incorporates other modes of transportation.
Other projects on the priority list for Gasconade County include replacing the bridge on Route Y over Cedar Creek at $230,000, replacing the bridge on Route T over the Bourbeuse River at $1.85 million, and adding a center turn lane to Highway 19 from U.S. Route 50 to Route 28 and the school and Industrial Park in the city of Owensville. That project will be allocated $3.81 million.
