Bad week in Hermann if you were a rib. The VFW had great success with their BBQ fundraiser for Honor Flight. Lots of ribs and burgers were gobbled up. I actually bought a slab, took them home and my husband said, “Why don’t you get more since they are so good?” And I did!
I spied several new American flags flying around Hermann this weekend. They looked really good. Keep it up merchants. American flags, Open flags and Hermann flags really help to spruce up the town. I salute you all!
The backpack program was a giant success, thanks to Amy Grannemann and her helpers. Seventy backpacks were put together for this year’s kids. I ‘m sure the look of the children getting a brand new backpack and brand new supplies is overwhelming. That’s one reward and here is another . . . jewels in Heaven. I wonder how the rest of us are doing on our jewel count.
Hermann Jaycees are having an Asian Carp Fishing Tournament on Saturday at the Hermann Riverfront Park. Sign in at 8 a.m. Big payoffs, a raffle and boatloads of fun. See what I did there? Boatloads? HeeHee.
