New Opponent in Liberty
Liberty is new opponent
A new team on Hermann’s football schedule this season is one of the newest high schools in the state, Wentzville Liberty.
Liberty, located at 2275 Sommers Road in Lake St. Louis, is southwest of Highway N and Interstate 64 and is the third and newest high school in the Wentzville School District, which boasts of being the fastest growing in Missouri.
Liberty joins Timberland High School, which opened fully in 2002, and Holt High School, the current name for the original Wentzville high school. About 70 percent of Liberty’s new area was carved from Timberland, four miles to the west.
The Eagles will become a member of the Gateway Athletic Conference this school term (2014-2015), and this year is their first time playing a varsity football schedule.
Classes started at Liberty last August for the 283 incoming freshmen.
