Hermann aldermen ponder plan for licensing out-of-town food vendors
Hermann officials are continuing their discussion on how to charge out-of-town food vendors — an issue that has been on the table for several weeks.
The Board of Aldermen Monday night again took up the matter, but opted to take a little longer to consider possible changes to the city’s business license fee structure.
City Attorney David Politte suggests that Hermann officials look at the fee system other area towns use for licensing non-resident vendors.
He does note in a report to the mayor and aldermen that he doesn’t think the city can use the fee structure to benefit local businesses by discouraging out-of-town vendors with higher license fees.
