Lady ‘Cats softball kicks off this weekend
Hermann’s girls softball team opens its season on Saturday, Aug. 23, in the New Haven Softball Classic against St. James under new Head Coach Chip Stutzman.
Each of the eight teams are guaranteed three games, and they will be played at two ball diamonds, Lions Field and Bock Field. The Lady Bearcats’ game against St. James will start at 11 a.m. at Lions Field.
The host New Haven Shamrocks will play Belle in a first-round game at 9 a.m. at Lions Field. At 9 a.m., at Bock Field, Steelville will meet Linn.
At Bock Field, Montgomery County will play Hancock of St. Louis County in a first-round game at 11 a.m. at Bock Field.
Winners’ bracket semifinal games are scheduled at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. at Lions Field. The two losers’ bracket semifinals games will be played at Bock Field at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
The championship game is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Lions Field, following the third-place game at 3:30.
The consolation game is at 3:30 at Bock Field, and the seventh-place game follows on that field at 5 p.m.
Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students.
