At his last scheduled shift on Saturday, March 31, the medical staff and employees of Hermann Area District Hospital wished farewell to Dr. Manuel Largaespada.
Dan McKinney, hostpital administrator, presented Dr. Largaespada with an iPad in recognition of his years of service to the Hermann area.
Dr. Largaespada has worked in the emergency room at the Hermann Area District Hospital for over eight years. In that time he has seen over 10,000 patients.
Originally from Nicaragua, Dr. Largaespada worked for many years as a general surgeon before switching full time to work in ER. He and his wife live outside Wright City. He has been commuting to Hermann to be Hermann hospital’s principal ER provider for the last eight years.
All the employees of Hermann Area District Hospital wish him the best in his retirement. His ER shifts will be principally filled by Dr. Dale Korn, the new ER director at HADH, who is moving to Hermann from Lebanon, Mo.
Dr. Korn is board certified in both family medicine and pediatric, and Dr. Jaya Parker (formerly Dr. Uppal), is now working full time in the ER.
