Let’s hear it for the Hermann Bearcat Brigade

Last Friday, Hermann students shined at their annual homecoming festivities–the afternoon parade and the football game–and we’re not just talking about football players here.
The Bearcat Brigade, Hermann’s marching band, gave a stellar halftime performance Friday night at the football game after leading the homecoming parade in the afternoon.
Now in its second year under the direction of Will Zwikelmaier, the Hermann band and its leader deserve to be recognized for their achievements this fall.
Three weeks ago at the Sullivan Marching Festival the Bearcat Brigade received fourth place out of 25 bands, and was only 6 points away from first place. The Sullivan competition was tight, but the Hermann students continued working hard, and a week later at the Washington Band Festival, they placed second in parade and second in field in their class. They ranked third, overall, out of 21 bands.
