The 2012 current tax year will generate approximately 23,000 tax statements in Gasconade County, creating an $11,500,000 tax charge. The tax statements will be mailed Nov. 9. Real Estate and Personal Property will produce $10,291,252 while Railroad and Utility taxes will bring in $1,173,174. Business Licenses and Private Rail Car Taxes make up the remaining charge.
The tax charge is to be shared among 37 separate political taxing entities, which have certified property tax levies. Prior tax year delinquency notices, not included in the above totals, will also be mailed.
With no vehicle changes or property improvements taxes will remain the same as last year. Many will see a slight decrease, except for those who live in the City limits of Bland.  The City of Bland tax rate increased .4573 cents from 2011 while the City of Owensville rate decreased .5198 from the prior year. All other city rates stayed much the same as the previous year.
The “Homestead Tax Credit Program” through the State of Missouri is no longer available.  Taxpayer’s can still file for tax credits under the “Missouri Property Tax Credit Program” by contacting the Missouri Department of Revenue (573) 751-3505.
To avoid late fees all taxes are due by December 31, 2012. If one owns personal property or real estate and does not receive a tax bill, please contact the County Collector’s Office at 573-486-2711. Tax statements are mailed as a convenience to the taxpayer.
Failure to receive a tax statement does not relieve the taxpayer of his/her obligation to pay taxes when due.
Collector’s office hours are Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed on holidays).
