Cajun dance slated for Nov. 18 to benefit Hermann Food Pantry

If you can’t wait until July to Cajun dance, here is your chance to two-step your way into the holiday season while benefitting the Hermann Food Pantry.
On Sunday, Nov. 18, Jim and Bonnie Oncken invite the public to join them at the Stone Hill Winery pavilion for the 5th annual “Can’t Wait ’til July” Cajun Dance. Admission is a donation of non-perishable food items or a monetary gift for the local food pantry. This is the fourth year the event has benefitted this important community organization.
“It started five years ago as just a party for those who didn’t want to wait until July to Cajun dance,” said Jim Oncken, referring to the annual Cajun Concert at Stone Hill Winery. When the second dance was planned as a birthday party for Bonnie, the Onckens decided to promote it as a benefit for the food pantry.
“Since the dance was close to Thanksgiving, we thought it would be a good idea to help stock the shelves at the food pantry since there is a greater need for food around that time of year, and this year is no exception. We felt it was something good to do for a good cause,” he said.
