Billy Bob Swofford, 71, of Hermann, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Frene Valley Health Center in Hermann.
He was born in Tiptonville, Tenn., on January 5, 1941, the son of the late Robert and Allie (Waynick) Swofford.
He was the husband of Esther Ann (Newman) Swofford. They were married August 20, 1960 at Hermann. She survives in Hermann.
Billy is also survived by three sons, Jeffery Swofford and wife, Michelle, of Hermann, Timothy Swofford and wife, Pam, of Troy, Mo., and Kenneth Swofford and wife, Kimberly, of West Allis, Wis.; a sister Betty Tucker of Montgomery City; and grandchildren Eric Swofford, Sara Portell, Michael, Kristy, Kevin and Daniel Swofford, Amy Geltz, Tiffany Gabathuler, Kyle, Katelyn and Kristen Swofford.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, William “Bill” Swofford.
He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Montgomery City, where he was a deacon, a song leader and a licensed baptist minister.
He was a truck driver for Scheer Transfer, New Haven Filter Company and Beaufort Transfer Company.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 18, at 5 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church in Montgomery City.
Memorials may be given to Faith Baptist Church or Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer.
