Christmas Tablescapes at The Rotunda is Dec. 1 & 2

By staff writer

A new Christmas season event in Hermann is on tap for the first weekend in December, December 1 and 2. Christmas Tablescapes will be a visual feast for all stepping inside The Rotunda in Hermann’s Upper City Park during that first weekend of December. The “feast” will help set moods for the holidays, will generate ideas for decorating for holiday gatherings and will be an artistic display for simple enjoyment.
The exhibit of tables decorated in themes for the holidays is set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The unique setting for the event is the historic 1864 Rotunda building, which is located on Washington Street between 10th and 11th Streets, only about two blocks from Stone Hill Winery where the KristKindl Markt will be open the same weekend.
Admission is $5 per person. Hot cider and Christmas music will add to the mood.
Such themes as “A Child’s Christmas,” “Cruisin’ Into Christmas,” “Books and Hooks,” “Santa’s Flight,” “Candyland,” “Cottage Christmas,” and “The Blessed Feast” are but a few of the twenty-five holiday table exhibits that will be on display. Most of the designers of the displays are from the Hermann area with three designers coming from the Owensville area.
This new event during the Christmas season in Hermann is a project of the Gasconade County Historical Society. All proceeds will support the Society’s mission of preserving and making accessible the history of Gasconade County.
