Bank to provide village of Rhineland with post office services

By staff writer

The grand opening of the Rhineland Peoples Savings Bank Village Post Office will be held on Friday, November 16, starting at 11 a.m. Members of the USPS as well as bank employees will be there to greet customers, answer questions and share in celebrating the opening with cake and drink being provided by the bank.
In order to assure Rhineland’s US postal customers continue to have mailing options, Peoples Savings Bank has agreed to provide basic postal services for the Rhineland area. This was the result of the recently announced reduction of operating hours at the local USPS Branch.
To fill the gap, Peoples Savings Bank’s Rhineland branch is becoming one of more than 2,500 so-called “Village Post Offices” being created in banks, grocery and convenience stores around the country in the next year.
