Carolers at Hermann's Kristkindl Markt.

What will possibly be the biggest Kristkindl Markt in Hermann’s history will be held this weekend, Dec. 8th and 9th, at three special venues. With the expansion of the Kristkindl Markt from the Festhalle to The Hermann Mill and the Hofgarten, the market has the potential of becoming one of the biggest in the midwest.
Almost 50 exhibitors and vendors will display their wares and demonstrate old-time crafts for holiday shoppers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
German Christmas markets are a centuries-old tradition in Germany. These holiday festivities light up communities with fun, laughter, companionship, good food and drink during the advent season.
The markets feature unique, hand-crafted items, purchased from vendors who have often crafted the items themselves.
Each “markt” has its own special charm, most of them unique to the community and region.
Hermann’s market was listed in a winter issue of German World magazine as one of the most authentic in North America, with the ambiance of the Festhalle being key to the Kristkindl’s overall success.
