The St. George Christmas Bazaar is not your average chicken dinner. Just ask a couple of the women responsible for helping to bring the first one together 53 years ago.
What started out as a way to raise funds for their school over a half century ago continues for the St. George Home & School Association, which annually holds its Christmas Bazaar the first Sunday in December. Last Sunday they held this event in the gym and church basement, with the finale now an all-school concert in the church.
Not much has changed since that first one in 1959, when the women would be in charge of the baked goods and crafts, and the men would work the games.
