Linda Lampkin, head volleyball coach at Hermann High School the past 33 years, will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame early next year in Springfield.
Lampkin will be among 15 inductees, one high school program and one statewide athletic program to be inducted in ceremonies on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at the University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center in Springfield.
Lampkin follows three other Hermann coaches who have been inducted in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Others who were honored were the late Don Gosen, Hermann boys’ basketball; Dennis Kruse, St. George High School basketball coach; and Doug Smith, Hermann girls’ basketball coach.
The enshrinement events will kick off with a reception at the Hall of Fame from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The enshrinement ceremonies will get underway at 4 p.m. with a reception at the University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, then the banquet immediately afterwards. These times are different than previous Hall of Fame enshrinement activities.
