Jana Maureen “Missy” Jones Frink, 65, of Hermann, passed away December 6, 2012, in Dallas, Texas after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Alva, Okla., on August 3, 1947, the oldest daughter of the late Dean Leonard Jones and Beverly Harden Jones. She graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1965 and the University of Missouri in Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1969.
On April 2, 1969 in Jefferson City, Missy married Sam L. Frink of Fayette.
Missy lived in Hermann for 36 years and was an active resident, volunteering with many community organizations.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Missy taught social studies and geography at Hermann Middle School where she also led the gifted program. She retired in 2002 and later worked at the Gasconade County Historical Society Archives & Records Center. She enjoyed reading, gardening, history, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Missy is survived by her husband, Sam, of Hermann; daughter Laura Schieber, husband Chad, and children, Henry, Wyatt and Frances of Dallas, Texas; daughter Mindy Frink and husband Eric Holers, and step children Madeline, Mackenzie and Mason of Dallas; brother David Jones and wife, Margaret, of Hallsville, and their adult children, Evan and Monica Jones; brother James “Jim” Jones and wife, Diane, of Jefferson City and their daughters Amy and Beverly Jones. She is also missed by the Frink family, including her brothers and sisters-in-law, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dean and Beverly Jones and sister, Rebecca Jones.
Visitation was Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in Hermann. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Hermann.
Memorials may be given to Wyatt’s Fund in care of Community Foundation of the Ozarks.

Leo Joseph Hauser, 85, of Hermann, passed away on December 8 at his home.
Mr. Hauser was born on a farm in Big Spring on March 30, 1927, son of the late Frank and Clara (Anderson) Hauser.
He was the husband of Gladys (Heldt) Hauser, who survives. They were married April 14, 1951, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Hermann.
Leo is also survived by a daughter, Donna, and son-in-law, Kenneth Roberts; and granddaughter, Jane, of Arlington, Va.; a sister, Thelma Kattelmann, and brother-in-law, Ben, of Hermann; two sisters-in-law, Melba Hauser of Big Spring, and Marlene Parker of Danville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Frank, Jr.; two sisters, Lorena Uthlaut and Varene (Mickey) Heldt; four brothers-in-law, Ralph Uthlaut, Sr., Kermit Heldt, Harry Heldt and Chester Paul, Jr.; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Hauser and Darlene Paul.
He was a member of St. Paul’s U.C.C. in Hermann, and once served on the board. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Mr. Hauser farmed and was employed as an insurance agent before going into the hardware and farm supply business in 1959. He owned and operated Hauser Farm Supply in Big Spring until his retirement in 1989.
He pursued many interests in life, including chess, golf, travel, genealogy, photography and gardening.
He obtained a pilot’s license when he turned 40 and assembled his own computer to celebrate his 80th birthday. He was also an active volunteer in retirement, signing up for Habitat for Humanity projects and Meals on Wheels, and fundraising for the Big Spring Volunteer Fire Department and the St. James Evangelical Cemetery. He was also a member of the Daggett Masonic Lodge 492 in McKittrick for 41 years.
Visitation was Tuesday, December 11, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, where funeral services were held at 11 a.m., with Rev. Rick Riedel officiating. Burial was at St. James Evangelical Cemetery in Big Spring.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s U.C.C. or St. James Cemetery.

Richard Robert Michel, 66, of Hermann, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Hermann on October 24, 1946, the son of the late Joseph and Pauline (Mundwiller) Michel.
He was the husband of Beverly (Harrison) Michel. They were married February 25, 1967 at St. George Church, Hermann. She survives in Hermann.
Richard is also survived by two children, son Shane Michel and wife, Tina, of Hermann, and daughter Shandra Michel of Hughesville, Pa.; by four sisters, Patricia Broeker and husband, Bob, of Washington, Lee Ann Decker and husband, Ken, of Charlotte, N.C., Lola Chitwood and husband, Charles, of Summersville, S.C., and Margaret Eikermann and husband, Virgil, of St. Charles; a sister-in-law, Kathy Zavalydriga and husband, Tom, of Hughesville, Pa., grandchildren Cameron and Taylor Michel of Hermann and Hayden Pearson and his father, Scott Pearson, of Montgomery City; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Blake Pearson.
He was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, the Hermann Volunteer Fire Department and was a former city alderman.
Mr. Michel was a carpenter for D & H Sales of Berger for 35 years. He also was a former brick layer for Wayne Baumstark and Velton Rohlfing in Hermann.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
Funeral services will be held at St. George Church, Hermann, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, with Father Bill Debo officiating.
Burial will be at St. George Cemetery, Hermann.
Memorials may be given to ALS or St. George Church, c/o Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.

Richard Alan Presser, 57, of Hermann passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at his residence.
Richard was born in St. Charles on May 23, 1955 to Jack and Billie J. (Hagar) Presser. He had served his country with the United States Army Reserves.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie J. Presser, and daughter, Traci Presser.
His survivors include his father, Jack Presser of Hermann; sons, Nicholas Presser and Benjamin Presser both of Hermann; sisters, Jackie Wenkel and husband, Terry, of Russellville and Linda Scego of Rhineland; and by one grandson, Bentley Horn of Rhineland.
Visitation was held on Thursday evening, Dec. 6, at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
