Three persons filed for city offices shortly after 8 o’clock on Monday morning, the first day candidates could file for office.
Ronald Van Booven, who is a Ward 1 city alderman, filed for mayor. He is currently the president of the board of aldermen and will serve as mayor pro-tem until the April election.
A one-year term for mayor of Hermann opened up when Mayor Larry Miskel won a seat on the Gasconade County Commission last August. He will be sworn in as northern district commissioner on Dec. 28.
Also re-filing on Monday morning were Ward 1 alderman Bruce Cox and Ward 2 alderman Brian Chorley.
The deadline for filing is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. All candidates must file with the city clerk at City Hall, 1902 Jefferson St.
