Dana Sutton and Megan Koenig, both of Hermann, were recently selected to receive a non-renewable cash scholarship from the Hermann Elementary School staff.
A scholarship and fund was established during the 2009-2010 school year with money donated by teachers and staff members.
The checks were awarded to Sutton and Koenig at the annual elementary Christmas Program on Friday, December 5.
Dana Sutton, pursuing a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood, and Megan Koenig, a math major pursuing a Secondary Education degree were each awarded $500.
Past recipients of the Hermann Elementary Education Scholarship include Lindsay Helling, Jayme Murphy and Wayland McKague.
Eligible applicants must be a graduate of Hermann High School and college junior or senior status currently enrolled and accepted into the education program. To date, $2500 has been awarded from the teachers and staff at Hermann Elementary.
