Marvin George Bader, 75, of Big Spring, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.
Mr. Bader was born in McKittrick on November 22, 1937, a son of the late William C. and Alida A. (Daller) Bader.
He was the husband of Ruth (Boschert) Bader. They were married Nov. 27, 1958 at St. Peter’s Church in St. Charles. She survives in Big Spring.
Marvin is also survived by daughter, Irene Lewis and husband, Bill, of Hermann, daughter Beverly Bader of Big Spring, daughter Anita Van Booven and husband, Joe, of Rhineland, son Marvin Joe Bader and wife, Katherine, of Rhineland, daughter Linda Van Booven and husband, John, of Hermann, daughter Brenda Van Booven and husband, Dave, of Rhineland, son Alfred Bader and wife, Brenda, of Hermann, son William Bader and wife, Susanne, of Rhineland; sister Helen Rothermich of Auxvasse; sister-in-law Henrietta Bader of Rhineland, sister-in-law Mary Jane Schroeder and husband, Orville, of St. Peters, brother-in-law Allen Boschert and wife, Carol, of St. Paul, Mo., sister-in-law Shirley Smith and husband, George, of St. Charles, brother-in-law Claude Boschert and wife, Nancy, of St. Charles, brother-in-law Richard Boschert and wife, Alice, of St. Charles, sister-in-law Kathy Coleman and husband, Rick, of St. Charles, and sister-in-law Sharon Wulf and husband, Rich, of St. Charles; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Oscar Bader.
Marvin was a member of Church of the Risen Savior in Rhineland, the Knights of Columbus, the Big Spring Fire Department, Holy Name Society and a past board member of many local organizations in Rhineland and Montgomery County area. He enjoyed doing chores on the farm, having fish fries, playing pinochle, spending time with the family, going to church and deer camp. He was a farmer.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 3-8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
Funeral services will be held at St. Martin’s Church, Starkenburg, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, with Father Bill Debo officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin’s Cemetery, Starkenburg.

Gordon “Bud” Becht, 88, of Hermann, formerly of Lake St. Louis, passed away Dec. 30, 2012, at Frene Valley Health Center in Hermann.
He was born Sept. 11, 1924, in Illinois. He married Patricia A. Greenlee, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dr. Arno Becht, and a sister, Elizabeth.
Mr. Becht is survived by a sister, Barbara Smith of Canon City, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Kruse of Chesterfield; and many nieces and nephews.
He was retired from McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
Mr. Becht loved to shoot skeet, was an avid reader and dog lover.
Memorials can be given to the Humane Society or Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
Pittman Funeral Home, Wentzville, is in charge of arrangements.

Keith Leon Riley, 71, of Big Spring, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Boone Hospital in Columbia
Mr. Riley was born in Riverside, Calif., on Feb. 15, 1941, a son of the late Kirk Marvin and Bonnie Jean (Cottrell) Riley.
He was the husband of Jane (Kley) Riley. They were married Sept. 2, 1983 at Roswell, New Mexico. Jane survives in Big Spring.
Keith is also survived by two sons, Kevin Riley of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Darren Riley of El Dorado, Ark.; a daughter, Kimberly Jett of Big Spring; two sisters, Karen Ertz-Michael and Kathy Ribail of Washington state; and brothers Bill Riley of Lubbock, Texas, Kenneth Riley of New Mexico and Mike and Pattrick Riley; by 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Tammy; a son Keith; and a great-granddaughter, Anna Bell Rose Riley-Harris.
He was employed by the USDA for 17 years. He also worked with the Sheriff’s Department of Pulaski County, Arkansas as special deputy as well as security for private companies.
He was the owner of Big Spring Small Engines until health issues compelled him to retire.
He was a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association and the Big Spring Fire Department where he served as president.
Visitation was Friday, Jan. 4, from 10-11 a.m. at Big Spring United Methodist Church, where funeral services followed at 11 a.m. Burial was at Big Spring Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or Big Spring Fire Dept., c/o Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.

Mary Ann Vollertsen, 70, of Berger, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Vollertsen was born in Washington, Mo., on May 23, 1942, a daughter of the late Jerome G. and Laura (Ruffner) Schuster.
She was the widow of Dale J. Vollertsen. They were married Nov. 7, 1959 at Holy Family Church, Port Hudson. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2009.
Mary Ann was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Berger. She worked as a cook for the Gasconade County R-1 School District for over 30 years and she and her husband were both Cub Scout Leaders for many years.
She is survived by a son, Glenn Vollertsen of Berger, a daughter Cheryl Schilling and husband, Mark, of New Haven, a sister Glessie Hoffmann of Hermann, a grandson Mitchel Schilling and wife, Danielle, of Adrian, Mich., a granddaughter Storm Vollertsen of New Haven; a great-granddaughter Anabelle Rose Schilling of Adrian, Mich., and by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Joseph Schuster.
Visitation was Friday, Jan. 4, at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with Rev. Allen Fluent officiating.
Burial was at Bethany Cemetery, Berger.
