Gasconade County officeholders elected in November were sworn in on Friday, Dec. 28, at the courthouse in Hermann. Judge John Berkmeyer swore in the elected officials.
Joe Mundwiller and Jerry Lairmore are the two longest tenured county employees who were swore in on Dec. 28.
Mundwiller has been working in the assessor’s office for over 30 years, and was sworn in for his fourth term. Before being elected county assessor, he was the deputy assessor under Ray Berlener. Mundwiller was hired in the assessor’s office on May 10, 1982. He was sworn in for his fourth term at the end of December.
The busy tax season for the assessor kept Mundwiller on the phone, and Judge Berkemeyer administered the oath to him in a separate ceremoney.
Lairmore took office as southern district commissioner of Gasconade County on Jan. 1, 1997.
County elected officials are Fay Owsley, public administrator; Larry Miskel, northern district commissioner; Paul Dopuch, surveyor; Randy Esphorst, sheriff; Mr. Lairmore; and Benjamin Grosse, coroner.
