Wilford Kallmeyer, 85, former Hermann mayor and county commissioner, dies

Wilford Kallmeyer, who served as Hermann’s mayor for eight years, then as Gasconade County Presiding Commissioner for 12 years, passed away Monday at Hermann Area District Hospital. He was 85.
Mr. Kallmeyer, who was also involved in the trucking industry most of his life, was a member of many organizations and a long-time volunteer of the Hermann Fire Company No. 1. He would drive the team of mules that pulled the fire department’s antique wagon in many parades.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at the Hermann United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir since he was 16-years-old. Visitation is Friday from 2-8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
