The latest donation for the Gerald Engemann Memorial Garden at the Pilot House was received last week from the Deutschheim Association in the amount of $1,000.
Lois Puchta, a member of Deutschheim, said that with the state historic site buildings in the vicinity, it was only fitting that the association make a contribution. Deutschheim Association is an arm that supports Deutschheim State Historic Site.
The Pilot House Memorial is being re-created across First Street from its original location, where it was taken down before the new Missouri River bridge was built. It had been stored in various places around town.
