Paddlers on Missouri River 340 to make stop in Hermann in July

The 8th Annual running of the Missouri River 340 is set for July 23-26. The 340 mile canoe race starts in Kansas City and finishes on the other side of the state in St. Charles, Mo.
Participants have 88 hours to navigate the course along the Missouri River, traveling day and night to be the first to finish. Hermann will be one of the eight mandatory checkpoints that will line the course in river towns along the way. But the fastest paddlers won’t stop for long.
“They are not required by the rules to linger,” said race director Scott Mansker. “They just check in and keep moving.”
