Members of the City of Hermann’s Landmarks Commission have scheduled a public workshop where they will outline the benefits and potential profitability of owning a building in the Landmarks District.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Community Center in the City Hall. The two-hour workshop will start at 8:30 a.m.
Frank Van Kamp, vice-chairman of the Landmarks Commission, said the workshop hopes to assist and educate business and property owners, banks, realtors, title companies, contractors and architects. The general public and anyone who is interested in learning about city and federal guidelines relating to the purchase, construction and rehabilitation of building within the city’s Landmarks District are invited.
Construction workers are also invited to the workshop.
A review of the city’s ordinances and codes relating to the historic district will also be discussed.
Those wishing to attend should contact Marcia Bucker at the City Office no later than Feb. 25 to reserve a spot. Her phone number is 486-4500. A continental breakfast will be served.
