Hermann High School enrichment students are selling “Bearcat Boas” to help fund their trip this summer to North Carolina, where they will be working with families living in poverty.

Maribeth Dann, a middle school gifted teacher who has accompanied high school students on several previous trips, came up with the idea to make the boas. Mrs. Dann and Tarey Vieth, high school librarian, will once again lead a group of Hermann students on the service trip.

Last summer a group of HHS students went to Joplin to help with the tornado cleanup, and the two previous summers they were in New Orleans to help in homes that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The students will be selling the boas at Friday night’s homecoming game against New Haven.
