A Super Bowl to remember

Sunday’s Super Bowl in New Orleans had a heavy Mizzou flavor–two defensive standouts on the San Francisco 49ers side, and an assistant coach on the other sideline wearing the purple and black colors of the Baltimore Ravens.
When we contacted Ted Monachino Monday night, the exhausted linebackers coach of the Ravens was ready to cash it in and get some rest before Tuesday morning’s parade of the Super Bowl champions through downtown Baltimore.
Monachino, who is married to the former Amy Koch of Hermann, may not have had the stellar career at Missouri as Justin Smith and Aldon Smith of the 49ers, but he earned three letters as a linebacker and twice received All-Big 8 Conference academic honors..
Ted’s entire family was at the Superdome on Sunday as the Ravens raised the Vince Lombardi trophy. His wife and three children, Mikalee, Sam and Michael, were on the field as the purple confetti rained down from the dome.
