Hermann’s girls outscored New Haven 18-8 in the fourth quarter last Tuesday night, squeezing past the Shamrocks, 40-33, in a Four Rivers Conference basketball game on the Lady Bearcats’ floor.
It was the third time this season the Lady Bearcats defeated the Shamrocks this season, and it was their toughest battle.

After struggling to make baskets, Hermann hit a spurt early in the final eight minute period when it finally found the range. Three baskets by Karrine Lane, two by Jamie Gleeson and a big 3-pointer from Kali Stiers sent the Lady Bearcats to their 18th win of the season.
Hermann took an 11-5 lead at the quarter before New Haven tied it at 17-all heading into the break. Then the Shamrocks went on top by three points, 25-22, after three quarters.
Lane led Hermann with 18 points and 13 rebounds. The 5-4 guard also had eight steals and four assists.
Gleeson, a 5-10 junior, finished with 15 points and seven rebounds.
Rachel Steinhoff paced New Haven with 20 points.
The Shamrocks defeated Hermann in the junior varsity game, 37-25. Makaley Schneider scored seven points to lead Hermann and Cameron Hackmann added five. Kayla Borcherding and Taylor Covington each had 10 for New Haven.
