Hermann area chorus to resume rehearsals

Rehearsals for the spring session of the Hermann Area Chorus will resume on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to join the chorus regardless of their skill level.
There are 11 weeks of rehearsals leading up to the Spring Concert on Sunday, May 5 at 2 p.m. The chorus rehearses at the Hermann Middle School Music Room from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings. However, if schools are closed due to inclement weather, rehearsals will be postponed until the following Monday.
Ernestine Mueller directs the chorus. She has selected a wide variety of music for this session that includes folk music, Civil War music acknowledging the Emancipation Proclamation, Appalachian Mountain music, and popular songs and show tunes. Opening the music folders on the first night of practice is like opening gifts on Christmas morning; they are full of wonderful surprises. Margie Greene is returning as keyboard accompanist.
The Hermann Area Chorus is entering its fifth season and has become a major part of Hermann’s music scene. So don’t miss out if you have any interest in singing with the group. Ernestine encourages everyone to ‘just come’. There’s no sign up.

You can support the chorus by attending the May concert. It’s free and open to the public.
