Mary E. Elsenraat, 92, of Washington, formerly of Hermann, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Grandview Healthcare Center, Washington
Mrs. Elsenraat was born in Hermann on November 11, 1920, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Mary (Whitmann) Klos.
She was the widow of Vincent Elsenraat. They were married October 5, 1943 at Victorville, Calif.
She was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, and of Christian Mothers. She worked at International Shoe Co. in Hermann, which later became Florsheim Shoe Company, for 35 years as a stitcher.
Mary is survived by four daughters, Katherine Jamerson and husband, Edward, of Kalamazoo, Mich., Diana Praul and husband, Michael, of Hermann, Marsha Smith and husband, Randall, of Washington, and Carol Graue and husband, Doug, of New Florence; a sister, Rose Marie Faes and husband, Joe, of Sun City West, Ariz., 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 17, at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
Funeral services were held at St. George Church, Hermann, at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, with Father Bill Debo officiating. Burial was at St. George Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. George Church or St. George School, c/o Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.

Jerri L. Hallemann, 66, of New Haven, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at New Haven Care Center
Mrs. Hallemann was born in Breese, Ill., on August 20, 1946, a daughter of the late Carl and Thelma (Davis) Obermeier.
She was the wife of Raymond F. Hallemann. They were married June 4, 1995 at St. Peters U.C.C, New Haven. Raymond survives in New Haven.
Jerri is also survived by two daughters, Susan Kassebaum and husband, Mark, of Washington, and Jean Oetterer and husband, Mike, of New Haven, a step-son, David Hallemann of Pacific and a step-daughter, Vicki Mercer and husband, James, of St. Louis; grandchildren Taylor and Lexi Oetterer and Ryan and Adam Kassebaum; a brother, Roger Obermeier and a sister, Karla Lippert; by sisters-in-law Diana Obermeier, Barbara Burgess, Rose Rita Hallemann, Mary Lou McDonald, Margaret James, Virginia Holzem and Carol Klingsick; and brothers-in-law Anthony Hallemann, Frederick Hallemann and Leo Hallemann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Frederick Begemann; and a son, Michael Begemann.
She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, New Haven, Missouri and American Legion Auxiliary of New Haven. She loved gardening, flowers, spending time with her grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 17, at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.
Funeral services were held at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, New Haven, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, with Rev. David Poe officiating.
Burial was at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Haven.

Norbert L. Koch, 69 of Springdale, Ark., died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Springdale. He was born March 4, 1943 in Hermann, a son of Harvey Koch and Selma Hagel Koch.
He was a member of the Jaycees in Hermann, and the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He worked as a metal fabricator for many years.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Moon, and a brother, Neil Koch.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Virginia “Jenny” Koch of the home; daughter, Susan Gyaben of Fort Wainwright, Alaska; sons, Randy Moon of Springdale, Ark., Martin Moon of Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Darlene Faerber of New Florence; sister-in-law, Alverna Koch of Hermann; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at the chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.

Fayette Pauline Schutt, 94, formerly of Berger, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at New Haven Care Center.
She was born in Winside, Neb., on January 3, 1919, a daughter of the late Peter and Caroline (Damme) Reeg. She was baptized on February 6, 1919 by Rev. Rudolph Moehring and Winside.
Mrs. Schutt’s mother passed away on September 7, 1919, leaving her husband and six other children. It was Mrs. Reeg’s wish that her sister should raise her infant daughter.
Fayette was brought to Berger by her father on the train, to make her home with her uncle August and Aunt Mary Kahle, nee Damme, and her grandmother, Charlotte Damme, nee Schacht.
Fayette attended Lyon School near Berger and was confirmed at Bethany Evangelical and Reformed Church, Big Berger, on March 25, 1934 by Rev. E.H. Dickbernd.
She was united in marriage to Arthur H. Schutt on November 6, 1980, at Union, by Rev. W.W. Kramme. Her husband preceded her in death on August 23, 1994.
She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ, where she was a member of the Women’s Fellowship. She enjoyed playing the organ and was skilled at tatting and crocheting.
Fayette is survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Albert and Theodore Reeg; and by four sisters, Alice Thies, Clara Martin, Lillian Jensen and Pearl Dinkel.
Visitation was Tuesday at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in New Haven.
Funeral services will be held at Bethany United Church of Christ, Berger, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, with Rev. Eugenia Althen officiating. Burial will be at Bethany Evangelical Cemetery.

Austin Lee Van Booven, 21, of Rhineland, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 at New Haven.
He was born in Hermann on December 31, 1991, a son of David Lee and Brenda Jean (Bader) Van Booven of Rhineland.
Austin was a member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation. He enjoyed life, playing sports in school; loved to help on the family farm, hunting and fishing and spending time with his friends.
He worked at Wortman Erectors in Montgomery City. He also worked for Dr. Robert Lund as a farm hand, at Heberle Packing Company in Hermann, Trailside Bar & Grill in Rhineland and helped on the family farm. He also helped local schools as a referee for basketball games.
Austin is survived by his parents, David and Brenda Van Booven of Rhineland; a brother, Cole Van Booven of Hermann; his girlfriend, Taylor Goad of New Haven; his grandmothers, Ruth Bader of Big Spring and Bertha “Mutz” Van Booven of Rhineland; uncle Robert Van Booven of Rhineland, uncle and aunt Joe Van Booven and wife, Anita, of Rhineland, uncle and aunt John Van Booven and wife, Linda, of Hermann; three aunts Theresa Torgenson and husband, Trig, of Eureka Springs, Ark., Irene Lewis and husband, Bill, of Big Spring and Beverly Bader of Big Spring; uncles Alfred Bader and wife, Brenda, of Big Spring, Bill Bader and wife, Susanne, of Rhineland and Marvin Joe Bader and wife, Katherine, of Rhineland; and by many cousins and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 14, from 2-8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. from Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, with Father Bill Debo officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Rhineland.

Amanda Lee Witthaus, 27, of Hermann, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at New Haven.
Amanda was born in Hermann on Jan. 17, 1986, the daughter of Kevin and Janet (Grass) Witthaus.
She was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, and she worked for Pulaski Bank of Creve Coeur as a bank analyst.
Amanda enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, cutting wood, picking up walnuts and antique shopping. She was very active in sports in high school and she loved spending time with her dogs, Reese, Nilla and Berkley.
She is survived by her parents, Kevin and Janet Witthaus of Hermann, a brother, Jesse Witthaus and wife, Krystal, of Hermann, a niece Alivia Witthaus of Hermann, her grandparents Warren and Clarene Grass of Hermann, her fiance’ Shaun Heying of Hermann, uncle Jeff Grass of Hermann, uncle Robert Witthaus and wife JoAnn of Hermann, aunt Judy LeBrell and husband Stephen of Hermann, uncle William Witthaus and wife Karen of Hermann, aunt Debbie Vanausdoll and husband Myron of Hermann and uncle David Witthaus and wife Sheila of Hermann and by many cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Floyd and Margaret Witthaus.
Visitation was Friday, Feb. 15, from 2-8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
