Everyone is being encouraged to “eat out” between February 23 and March 3 as part of Hermann’s “Restaurant Week” observance.
The purpose of the event, coordinated by Hermann Tourism, is to increase awareness of the many quality dining establishments that Hermann has to offer and encourage both residents and visitors to sample the local cuisine. It also provides an opportunity for restaurants to showcase special dishes they have to offer.
“Our many fine restaurants are a great attraction for our visitors but we also want to encourage people who live in the area to experience the many quality dining choices available here as well,” said Shelbie Blank, who is working with Hermann Tourism through the Vista program. “Hermann has some wonderful family-owned restaurants that offer a wide variety of food choices, and we hope everyone will sample our local cuisine.”
Blank explained that other cities have used restaurant weeks to highlight the quality of their eating places and this seemed like a good program to try in Hermann as well. Restaurants will be offering specials or discounts as part of the program.
Anyone who patronizes at least five of the participating restaurants during the nine day period will be entered into a drawing to win $50 in Hermann Bucks. Three prizes will be awarded. Punch cards will be available at restaurants or at the Hermann Welcome Center, 312 Market Street. Hermann Bucks can be spent like cash at most city businesses, including restaurants.
A list of specials being offered by restaurants is available at the Welcome Center or at www.VisitHermann.com.
