The Cottage Restaurant in Hermann has new owner
By staff writer
Mary Brennell is taking over the management of The Cottage Restaurant on Route H.
Started 10 years ago by Connie Keith and Sidney Miller, they are turning over the Hermann restaurant to Mrs. Brennell, who is no stranger to the restaurant business. She worked and managed them for over 20 years.
She was the house chef for five years at a country French restaurant, The City Cousin in the Central West End of St. Louis.
In addition, she managed restaurants for the Marriott hotel chain, at Ceasar’s Tahoe Palace in Nevada as well as a restaurant at Laclede’s Landing at the St. Louis riverfront.
Her first job goes back to her early years in high school in north St. Louis when, as a 15-year-old, she bused tables at The Old Homestead, a family-style diner in Florissant.
