Swiss Meat & Sausage Company once again received top recognition for their superior smoked meat and sausage products at the Missouri Association of Meat Processors 74th annual convention and trade show, held at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia, March 1-2. They received the “Best of Show” award for the top product in the entire competition, along with 15 other awards.
Swiss Meats Corned Beef received Missouri Grand Champion honors, as well as the Best of Beef award and the overall Best of Show product award! Dr. Bryan Wiegand, professor from the University of Missouri who is in charge of the judging process, commented at the convention Saturday evening that he had two different sets of judges for the Missouri competition and the Best of Beef competition and that “it was absolutely amazing that both sets of judges gave the corned beef the same high scores.
