The surgery department at Hermann Area District Hospital held a retirement reception on August 31 for Sharon Heberle, RN. There were gifts from her co-workers, cake, and the hospital gave her a $50 gift certificate to Vintage Restaurant.
Sharon began her nursing career at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis where she worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Her time there was from 1990 to 2000.
Her next move was to get closer to home and worked for the Gasconade-Osage Health Department from 2000-2004.
She always wanted to work at Hermann Area District Hospital in the surgery departmen, so on October 4, 2004, her dream happened when she was hired at HADH.
“I am so thankful for getting the opportunity to work at the hospital and in the surgery department,” she said. “I was able to give my patient’s that personal touch, making their time with us a good experience with the care they received. Working in the community also meant so much to me and caring for our patients.”
