Hermann’s volleyball team wrapped up a share of the Four Rivers Conference title with two league wins last week.
The Lady Bearcats had their final regular season match at St. James on Tuesday night, Oct. 22, and a win would have given them their eighth straight undefeated conference season. The last time Hermann’s girls lost a Four Rivers Conference match was in 2005, and it came at home against New Haven.
The Lady Bearcats started last week’s play with a win Monday at Washington, where they defeated the Lady Jays 25-22, 25-15.
Hermann then defeated Sullivan on Tuesday, 25-6, 25-13, on the Lady Eagles’ court, then returned home Thursday and polished off Union in two sets, 25-6, 25-19.
Hermann had a hitting percentage of .296 against Washington. Senior outside hitter Jamie Gleeson finished with 10 kills in 20 attempts for a .450 hitting percentage, and also had seven digs and four ace serves. Sydnee Pate of Hermann also had seven digs, while Kirsten Leimkuehler had four kills. Kali Stiers registered 19 assists. All three girls are seniors.
The Lady Bearcats played a solid set in Game 1 at Sullivan, where they had a .333 hitting percentage, led by Gleeson.
