Ernest Jerome “Zeke” Korman, 72, of Florissant, formerly of Rhineland, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at Bent-Wood Nursing Home in Florissant.
He was born in Big Spring, Mo., on Oct. 21, 1941, a son of the late Ernest Gerald and Bernice Marie (Bucker) Korman.
He was a member of St. Martin De Porres Church, Hazelwood, Mo. and the Hermann Eagles.
Mr. Korman worked for Delta Airlines at St. Louis Lambert Airport for over 29 years, working in baggage services, ground crew and finally as a ticket agent.
Ernest proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was the husband of Karol A. (nee Klenk) Korman. They were married October 9, 1971 at St. Joseph’s Church in Rhineland.
He is survived by his wife, Karol; by a sister Maxine Pohlman of Rhineland, brother Gerald Korman and wife, Mary, of Hermann, by a sister, Elaine Horton and husband, Joseph, of Big Spring, by a sister-in-law, Susan Clifton and husband, Carl, of Heber City, Utah; and two brother-in-laws, Michael Klenk and wife, Lauri, of Heber City, Utah and Brad Klenk and wife, Annette, of Murray, Utah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by two brothers, William and wife Carol Korman, Dennis Korman, and one brother-in-law, Alfred Pohlman.
Zeke enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting and trout fishing, and he like to have a good time. He always seemed to be the center piece of any gathering.
Visitation was Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. from the Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, with Father Bill Debo officiating.
Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Rhineland, Missouri.
