Hermann police officers apprehended a suspect on Jan. 4 who allegedly has stolen a car in Rosebud.
Earlier that day, Gasconade County Deputy Mason Griffith conducted an investigation into the theft of a motor vehicle from Cedar Street, in Rosebud. It was determined a 2007 Ford Taurus was stolen from the 300 block of North Cedar early that morning.
Griffith was quick to get the vehicle entered into the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System as “stolen” and had the information broadcast to surrounding law enforcement agencies. Subsequent to this broadcast, an officer with the New Haven Police Department observed the vehicle on Highway 100 in New Haven. The driver of the stolen Taurus eluded the New Haven officer, but was located a short time later by Hermann police officers, who were monitoring the radio traffic.
Hermann officers stopped the stolen vehicle at the Highway 19 and Highway 100 (east) junction. The driver of the stolen vehicle, Ryan Paul Mistler, 21, of Owensville was taken into custody for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant through the City of Bland.

On Tuesday, January 7, Mistler was released by the Bland City Judge, pending a court appearance later this month.
In a warrant affidavit submitted to the Gasconade County Prosecuting Attorney on Monday, Jan. 6, charges were brouight against Mistler that include stealing (motor vehicle) and tampering in the first degree, both Class C felonies. The warrant application states Mistler admitted stealing the 2007 Ford Taurus without the consent of the owner. Warrants were issued last week.
Additional charges that may include resisting arrest, stemming from Mistler’s contact with New Haven police, may also be forthcoming in Franklin County.
