Eric Hymas named to SOMO Board of Directors

(Jefferson City) Special Olympics Missouri is proud to announce that Eric Hymas of St. Louis has been named to the SOMO Board of Directors.

Eric Hymas was promoted to the president of Shop ’N Save in March 2013. With 45 stores located in the St. Louis metropolitan area and central Illinois, including three stand-alone pharmacies, Shop ’n Save is a low-price leader in the marketplace.

Hymas was most recently senior vice president of merchandising for SUPERVALU, which included responsibility for all categories across center store as well as beverages, fuel and convenience, and fresh departments.

Eric has more than 30 years of experience with SUPERVALU, starting his career in an Albertsons store in Idaho Falls, Idaho. During his tenure with the Albertsons IMW Division, he held a number of leadership roles across merchandising, marketing and operations, including district manager, category director, vice president of center store and senior vice president of sales and merchandising.

Hymas and his wife, Kellie, have seven children – four boys and three girls. Brody, the Hymas’ youngest is a child with special needs who was adopted in 2007 at the age of 7 years old. Brody enjoys bowling and spending time with his family. In addition to spending time and travelling with his family, Eric is an avid outdoorsman.
