The annual Lincoln Day Banquet last Saturday night at the Hermann United Methodist Church gave candidates an opportunity to announce their intentions of filing for county and state offices.
The first day to officially file for the 2014 primary and general elections is Tuesday, Feb. 25.
The office of county treasurer, soon to be vacated by retiring Joey Gross, already has three persons who announced they will file for that office. Gross will finish up eight years as treasurer at the end of this year.
Susan Stiers, assistant to the superintendent of the Gasconade County R-1 School District at Hermann, said Saturday she plans to file.
Pat Mundwiller, a 20-year employee at Peoples Savings Bank in Hermann, will also file for the treasurer’s position.
The third to announce her candidacy was Wanda Ruediger, who is currently working in the county recorder’s office at the courthouse. Ruediger, Stiers and Mundwiller all live in Hermann.
