The Gasconade County Pachyderm Club installed 2014 officers and board at the Jan. 27 meeting held at the Swiss Evangelical Reformed Church in Swiss.
State Pachyderm Board of Director Pat Buschman was the installing officer.
Dan Engemann, president for 2012-2013, conducted the meeting for the last time.
New officers for 2014 are Hope Mundwiller, president; Larry Miskel, legislative chair/VP; Glenn Warnebold, treasurer; Gordon Jost, secretary; Ron Lottmann, hospitality chair,. New board members are Laurie Sutton and Blaine McKinney. Board members who completed their term were Dan Engemann, Jared Niederer and Pat Buschmann.
Prior to the installation of board and officers, the club welcomed guest speaker Duane Lester, owner and operator of The Missouri Torch. The Torch is a right of center blog focusing solely on politics in the state of Missouri. Lester is a lifelong resident of Missouri who’s web presence received national attention when he was the only news outlet in the state to broadcast LIVE from the state capital as they discussed the Department of Revenue releasing Missouri’s CCW records.
In 2012 Lester was recognized by the Franklin Center and the Heritage Foundation as their Breitbart blogger of the year.
Lester’s presentation focused on how an on-line presence is important, necessary, and how it fits into a larger political infrastructure.
The Gasconade County Pachyderm Club is a Political Club, formerly know as the The Gasconade County Republican Club, but you do not have to be a Republican or a member to come to the club’s meetings. Pachyderm club meetings are open to the public and encourage non-member attendance.
Pachyderm clubs, as an organization, do not endorse issues or candidates in a contested primary election.
