Hermann School District moves ahead with developing drug-test policy for students

A random drug-testing policy for students in extra-curricular activities and those who park their cars on campus will be developed after getting the green light last week from the Gasconade County R-1 School District. A committee of students, faculty and parents will be assembled in the coming weeks to begin crafting the policy.     By staff writer The fourteen Hermann FFA officers went to Tan-Tar-A Resort at Lake of the Ozarks for the annual officer retreat. While there, the officer team planned out this years activities and bonded as a team. The 14 Hermann FFA members were interviewed and elected into office in April for the coming year.   • Students attend GCHS Summer Institute in Hermann

    Students have been attending Summer Institute classes in Hermann and Owensville. On Wednesday and Thursday, June 18 and 18, a program called “Mastodons in Missouri” was held at the Historical Society’s Archives & Records Center Community Room in Hermann. Students made dioramas featuring scenes of mastodons and other animals that lived at that time.
