  • First-time donors push Hermann blood drive past goal

    Call them the Magnificent Seven. Thanks to the seven first-time donors, the most recent American Red Cross blood drive exceeded its goal. Sponsored by Hermann Area District Hospital and St. George Home and School, the drive held in the St. George gymnasium had a goal of 55 points.     The welfare of Missouri’s children is continuing to slide backwards, according to the 2014 version of KIDS COUNT. The annual analysis of quality-of-life factors that reaches down to the county level of each state is a project of the Annie E.   • Gloe is awarded Hermann hospital scholarship

    Emma Gloe is the recipient of the Hermann Area District Hospital Auxiliary scholarship. She is a 2014 graduate of Hermann High School.  She will attend the University of Missouri and major in Biochemistry next year on the pre-med track through the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. Her plans are to become a pathologist. Presenting her the scholarship award is Dan McKinney, administrator at Hermann Area District Hospital.
