Hermann High School, Middle School concert set for Thursday night

The Hermann Middle School and High School choirs will present their first concert of the school year on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. in the HHS auditorium.     The Hermann Area Chorus will present its Fall Concert Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Hermann High School Auditorium.  The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted during the program to benefit the Hermann Area Chorus. The newly formed Women’s Chorus will perform for the first time at the Concert, singing “In Time of Silver Rain” with text by Langston Hughes and music

    The Gasconade County R-1 School District directors and administration are saluting the Hermann High School Choir and Director Patrick Dell for hitting a record for the number of students named to the All-District Choir. This year, Hermann has 21 students on the All-District Choir. That compares nine students named to the choir from Owensville and 15 from St. James.     Gary and Phyllis Craig of Hermann were invited to a “Collectors Only” event with actor Anthony Hopkins in Las Vegas Oct. 4. The Academy Award-winning actor is not only known for his acting, but also for his paintings. The Craigs first saw his artworks while visiting an art gallery in Maui in 2012.
