Blue Oval organizers pleased with inaugural event in Hermann

Local organizers of the Midwest Blue Oval Club Rally and Car Show in Hermann this past weekend are pleased with the turnout, even though it was smaller than they had hoped for. Greg Howe, one of the local Blue Oval organizers, said the group is optimistic turnout will be larger as the event becomes a regular attraction in the Hermann community.

  • Chowning concert to benefit Show Boat rehab

    As noted in recent weeks in the Hermann Advertiser-Courier, The Show Boat Theatre has launched a fund-raising campaign to purchase a digital projector and renovate the building’s infrastructure. The first contribution came from The Hermann Arts Council with a $1,500 grant.     The Midwest Blue Oval Rally in Hermann kicks off Thursday and runs through Saturday. Organizer Greg Howe said there are plenty of activities for the whole family. Residents along the show route will need to move their cars from the streets by 6 a.m. on Saturday, Howe said.     Historic Hermann Museum has joined over 2,000 museums offering free admission to active military and their immediate families. The Blue Star Museum program includes National Guard and Reserve and runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day every year.
