    Riverbluff Industries was an infant enterprise in Hermann in 1981 when then-VFW Auxiliary President Dorothy Thornton suggested the Auxiliary give a gift to the organization. The sheltered workshop employs and empowers adults with physical and mental challenges by providing them the opportunity for gainful, meaningful employment close to home.   • Hermann PD probes recent burglaries

    A pair of recent burglaries are being investigated by the Hermann Police Department. On Monday, police received notice of a break-in at Wine Valley Inn and several days earlier Sugar Momma’s was the target of burglars. “We’re still investigating,” said Lt. Matt Straatman, Hermann’s acting police chief. No additional information was available about the break-ins.

    When the latest sales tax revenue figures arrived, Gasconade County Clerk Lesa Lietzow couldn’t help but be excited. “We’re turning cartwheels over sales tax” figures, she said during last week’s session of the County Commission. The November figures from the Missouri Department of Revenue shows Gasconade receiveing about $108,000 in sales tax revenue, up about $16,000 from the amount received for November of 2013.
