Gasconade County R-1 Superintendent Tracey Hankins.

They say that every year goes by more quickly and I am witness to this truth. It seems that the school year just began and we are already making plans for the fourth quarter. The last professional development day for teachers will be March 12th, and students will have the day off. Students and teachers will enjoy a long Easter holiday, March 29-April 2, returning to school on Tuesday, April 3rd. The last day of school for students is on Thursday, May 17th. On May 17th we will honor the seniors during graduation at Hermann High School.
It is very important that students be in attendance during the Spring testing window for State Achievement tests, April 10-27. The District is required by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to test all students beginning in third grade. It is important for students to get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast and lunch in order to be prepared for testing.
The Spring activities season is well underway. Students at HHS and HMS are working hard to prepare for a variety of celebrations and competitions. The HHS choir concert is March 6th, and HHS and HMS band concert is March 14th. Spring baseball, track, 7/8 grade volleyball, and golf schedules are all available on the District website at www.hermann.k12.mo.us under the District Calendar.
