Gasconade County sheriff receives OK to use UE funds for Courthouse security

Posted on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 11:02 am

The Gasconade County Commission Thursday morning approved the use of money from AmerenUE for the hiring of a deputy for Courthouse security.
The funds, an allocation of $20,000, were dessignated for the county’s Emergency Management Agency. But that money, which will be transferred from EMA to the Sheriff’s Department’s General Fund, can be used for a limited number of other things, including Courthouse security.
The deputy that will be hired by Sheriff John Romanus cannot be used as a road deputy.
