HHS grad receives scholarship from area artists group

Megan Heying, a HHS graduate and recipient of a scholarship from Artists of Wine Country.

The Artists of Wine Country Scholarship committee has announced the 2016 Alice Jacobson $1,000 Scholarship was awarded to Megan Heying, a graduate of Hermann High School.
To be considered for this award, Megan submitted a full application form and a portfolio including 10 of her original works of art, May 1, 2016.
Megan is enrolled in her junior year at St. Louis Community College, Meramec Branch, with a double major in Art and Psychology.  She is a STLCC Honors Student, is on the Dean’s List and has enjoyed such classes as Art History, Painting, Drawing II, Figure Drawing II and Design II.
Looking toward her goal of becoming an art therapist, Megan is considering a summer internship as an assistant art therapist.  After two years at STLCC, she hopes to transfer and receive her certification as an art therapist at Webster University.
Megan is a 2014 graduate of Gasconade R-1 Schools and is the son of Kenny and Janine Heying.
Anyone interested in obtaining a 2017 AJSF application form may contact the high school guidance counselor or any member of Artist of Wine Country.  Forms are due May 1 each year.  Requirements include outstanding students who intend to major in the field of fine arts and who are enrolled in an accredited college, university and/or fine arts institution of higher learning.
