Judge’s Decree

Posted on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 9:21 am

Last Thursday, Circuit Court Judge Craig Hellman handed down his judgement to deny the City of Hermann a motion for contempt against WMW & KCW, Inc., Kent Wilkins and Brant Wilkins, who operate the Captain Wohlt Inn, in Hermann. The decree also said the Plaintiff (City of Hermann) shall pay to the Defendant the sum of $1,200 “as and for his attorney fees.”

City officials were asking Judge Hellmann to find Wilkins in contempt of the consent judgement and slap him with the city’s legal fees in this matter, grant City Hall the right to revoke the Inn’s business license and authorize the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Department to padlock Wilkins’ properties until he satisfies the legal costs associated with this case.
